One of the biggest changes could come in defence. Pioli is considering using a back-three system

with Alessio Romagnoli, Mateo Musacchio and Ricardo Rodriguez all pushing for a start.

This would provide a more solid foundation for the team, as well as allowing Pioli to play two up front.

Pioli is looking to rest some of the more experienced players, such as Franck Kessie, Hakan Calhanoglu and Lucas Biglia.

This could open the door for the likes of Manuel Locatelli and Lucas Paqueta to get an opportunity in the starting line-up.
